Sacred Grace, Orthodox Mission of The Theotokos & St. Michael

Sacred Grace Orthodox Mission is a missionary-based community rooted in the ancient Antiochene tradition, serving both local and extended communities from our base in San Francisco, California. We are dedicated to preserving the liturgical beauty, spiritual depth, and apostolic continuity of the early Church, while embracing unity with the broader Catholic communion through fidelity to the Apostolic See of Rome.

As part of the United Episcopal Catholic Communion and a member of the Order of Corporate Reunion, we uphold valid apostolic succession, time-honored sacramental practices, and ecclesial autonomy, respecting tradition. Our monastic, missionary, and virtual ministries provide pastoral care, spiritual formation, and evangelistic outreach to those seeking renewal and a sense of belonging in the ancient faith.

We stand on the foundations laid by the Holy Fathers and the Ecumenical Councils, offering healing, clarity, and authentic witness to the Gospel. Through both digital and physical presence, we serve as a living expression of Christian unity and pastoral mercy, rooted in tradition and open to all who seek the light of Christ.

Anchored in the sacred tradition of the Antiochene Church, Sacred Grace Orthodox Mission exists to renew souls, reconcile hearts, and proclaim the risen Christ through the fullness of sacramental life, theological clarity, and pastoral compassion.

We serve as a missionary outpost of ancient faith in the modern world—upholding apostolic integrity, Orthodox spiritual discipline, and unity with the Apostolic See of Rome.

Through monastic witness, missionary outreach, and digital presence, we seek to preserve the beauty of the undivided Church, heal divisions with truth and love, and welcome all who hunger for holiness. In a fragmented world, we offer a living bridge—rooted in Christ, shaped by the Fathers, and radiant with hope.
Leadership Overview
A dedicated chancellor leads our mission with a background in pastoral theology, veteran service, and seminary formation. Since 2023, he has overseen the development of the Sacred Grace Orthodox Mission, its seminary program, and the formation of future clergy. His academic training includes advanced degrees in divinity and pastoral counseling, and he is certified in mental health coaching and spiritual care. His monastic appointment as abbot reflects his ongoing commitment to guiding the community with fidelity and prayer.

A senior hierarch oversees international pastoral and sacramental work. Consecrated to the episcopate in South America, he brings pastoral oversight, liturgical integrity, and special ministry in the area of spiritual healing and exorcistic service. As a mentor in deliverance and pastoral care, he supports communities facing profound spiritual challenges.

Our religious sisters are guided by a Mother Superior, who also assists in day-to-day organizational coordination. She serves as a key pastoral and administrative presence for both clergy and laity, supported by an assistant mother with specialized experience in recovery counseling and vocation formation.

Our deacons are in priestly formation and contribute actively to chaplaincy, evangelism, and spiritual education. One is engaged in ministering to truckers on the road, while others serve in pastoral mentorship and outreach ministries.

We also benefit from the service of a senior pastoral advisor with prior experience in parapsychological ministry and spiritual warfare education. He provides guidance on complex spiritual cases and offers support rooted in Orthodox pastoral discernment.

Sacred Grace Orthodox Mission is a self-governing Orthodox) community under the jurisdiction of the United Episcopal Catholic Communion and a member of the Order of Corporate Reunion. Faithfully rooted in the Antiochene tradition, we maintain sacramental and theological unity with the Apostolic See of Rome, recognizing the Pope as the successor of St. Peter and visible head of the universal Church, without surrendering our Eastern identity or governance.

What We Profess:

Guided by Orthodox tradition and Eastern Catholic fidelity, we solemnly uphold:
  1. Seven Holy Mysteries, instituted by Christ for the salvation of souls.
  2. The Sacrament of Penance, with auricular confession reverently practiced.
  3. The Communion of Saints, invoking the Blessed Virgin Mary, the holy angels, and the saints.
  4. Liturgical integrity, resisting novel rites and preserving ancient forms.
  5. Daily Eucharistic celebration, honoring the Divine Liturgy as the summit of worship.
  6. The use of holy icons, relics, and sacred symbols as conduits of devotion and beauty.
  7. Sacramental discipline, offering the Mysteries to those professing the Orthodox Catholic faith.
  8. Fasting and abstinence, preparing the body and soul for the reception of the Holy Gifts.
Our Mission:

To proclaim Christ crucified and risen, to minister through the sacramental and spiritual life, and to offer a living witness of reconciliation—bridging East and West with truth, dignity, and love.

Faith and Doctrine:

We affirm the Nicene Creed, the teachings of the Holy Fathers, and the Ecumenical Councils accepted by both the East and the West. Our clergy are ordained through apostolic succession, with married men being eligible for ordination; monastic vocations follow traditional vows and spiritual disciplines.

Our liturgical life centers on the Divine Liturgy, daily prayer, and the observance of fasts and feasts, using sacred language and chant. The seven sacraments are administered faithfully, along with reverent use of icons, relics, and holy water.

We foster community through charity, spiritual formation, and theological education. Governed by the United Episcopal Catholic Communion, we operate autonomously while engaging in dialogue with other Orthodox and Eastern Catholic communities. Our mission encompasses moral integrity, pastoral care, and evangelization, providing a bridge of unity between the ancient faith and modern life.
I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, the Maker of heaven and earth, and all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all ages. Light of Light, true God of true God, begotten, not made, of one essence with the Father, by whom all things were made.

Who for us men and our salvation came down from heaven, and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and became man.

And He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, suffered, and was buried.

On the third day, He rose again, according to the Scriptures.

And ascended into heaven and sat at the Father's right hand.

And He shall come again with glory to judge the living and the dead, whose kingdom shall have no end.

And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of life, who proceeds from the Father, who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified, who spoke by the prophets.

In one holy, catholic, and apostolic Church.

I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins.

I look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Chotki Prayer Rope image
How to Use the Prayer Rope
  1. Hold the Prayer Rope:
  2. Recite the Jesus Prayer: For each knot on the prayer rope, recite the Jesus Prayer: "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner."
  3. Focus and Meditate: As you repeat the prayer, focus on the words and their meaning, meditating on Christ's mercy and presence.
Variations
  • Short Form: "Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me."
  • Extended Form: "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, have mercy on me, a sinner."
The prayer's simplicity and repetition help calm the mind and draw the heart closer to God. It's a powerful practice for developing a deep, meditative connection with Christ.
